    America's economic future, global leadership, and national security depend on the policies shaping U.S. business competitiveness. In an era of escalating geopolitical tensions, historic shifts in trade policies, and groundbreaking technologies like AI, the need for a bold and forward-thinking public policy agenda for U.S. business has never been greater. This year-long, Policy Research Project equips students with the tools to shape the policies that fuel U.S. business dynamism and leadership.

    Business, Geopolitics, and Diplomacy

    Fall 2026

    McCombs School of Business, UT Austin

    This course explores how geopolitics and heightened global competition impacts U.S. private sector leadership in the world, and the role U.S. government plays in advocating for American companies to compete and win in markets abroad. Students will deepen their understanding of global deal-making in strategic industries such as AI/advanced tech, energy, and infrastructure, and the nexus between business and national security.
